The first tactile reading conference will be held in Stockholm, Sweden April 5-7, 2017.

The conference Tactile Reading 2017 will bring together people working with children and youth with visual impairments and blindness, academics in various research areas, commercial companies, developers and innovators in the field of tactile reading. 
The conference is arranged by the Swedish Agency for Accessible Media (MTM) and National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools (SPSM).  The aim is to create a forum to share experiences and research, promote best practices and inspire to new ideas for research and getting people together for future collaboration.
This is the first time this conference will be held. The goal is to create a recurrent international conference on issues related to tactile reading, including literacy, with a conference organization touring between European interested parties.

  • Tactile graphics
  • Universal design and tactile reading


Speakers include Dr. Cay Holbrook of the University of British Columbia.
