Braille and Your Baby or Toddler

Find a course

This course from Hadley is designed to help parents and other adults provide the tools and information to support infants and toddlers who will be braille readers.  This includes experiences and activities that promote the development of oral language, concepts, and motor skills. The course also introduces the braille alphabet and numbers for sighted readers, and discusses the creation of a braille-rich environment.

Hi Claudia,

It's great that you are being so proactive!  The little one in your life will certainly benefot from your support and interest.  In addition to the above course that is offered through Hadley, you may wish to take a look at some of the resources on this site, especially in the Emergent Literacy section.  Helping Young Children to Develop Literacy Skills is full of ideas, and quite a few of our regular bloggers write about literacy for young children.  If you are registered on the site, you will automatically receive email notification when a new blog post has been added.

Good luck!

Charlotte

I would like to participate in any seminars or classes to learn about Braille as I am an aunt of a small infant that needs assistance.
