BANA (Braille Authority of North America) has put together a list of the most significant changes from current literary braille to UEB (Unified English Braille).  The document, which was published in March 2013, is not meant to be comprehensive, but lists some of the notable changes, including:

  • contractions that have been eliminated
  • changed punctuation and other symbols
  • new symbols
  • web and email addresses, file names, twitter handles, etc.
  • tips for remembering some symbols and indicators
