Exploring Braille App

The Exploring Braille app teaches the braille alphabet to young children who are blind or visually impaired

The Exploring Braille with Madilyn and Ruff App was created by the mother and teacher of a child who is blind and is designed to help young children learn the braille alphabet.  It is a free app that uses sound and touch in an interactive approach in two different instructional approaches, and has two quiz modes to assess a child’s reading and writing skills in braille.  The app is geared toward children from ages 4-10 years, although it can be used by anyone learning braille. It is fully accessible to people with visual impairments, using an external refreshable braille display (RBD) and VoiceOver.
