Braille Displays: Two Truths and a Lie

Sponsored by Maryland School for the Blind, Cody LaPlante, from eye.t Assistive Technology for Vision Professionals, will present a free one-hour webinar called Braille Displays: Two Truths and a Lie on February 25, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

In the age of accessible technology, sometimes it seems like focus on braille is disappearing. But that is further from the truth, with a braille display, and some instruction, you can ensure that you can access a computer with full access in braille. In this session we will focus on utilizing a braille display with the screen readers JAWS, and NVDA. You will learn the TWO TRUTHS that you need to know to use a braille display alongside a computer, and the lie that you may have been told that has kept you from learning to use one. At the end of the session, it will be clear why using a braille display will take your computer competence to the next level.
