As a first step for Project INSPIRE 2, we are collecting data regarding the training needs of professionals. Between now and February 28, 2025, we invite the following US professionals to complete our survey.
- Teachers of students with visual impairments working directly with students who are PK-12th grade braille readers during the 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and/or 2024-2025 school year.
- Paraprofessionals working directly with students who are PK-12th grade braille readers during the 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and/or 2024-2025 school year.
- NLS and NCUEB certified braille transcribers who have responsibility for preparing math materials during the 2024-2025 school year.
- Braillists who are not NLS or NCUEB certified who have responsibility for preparing math materials during the 2024-2025 school year.

This study is being conducted through the College of Education, Human Performance, and Health at the University of South Carolina Upstate. This research survey has been reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board-Human Subjects in Research. It will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete the survey.
