Research on Accessible Technology

Sina Bahram

Sina Bahram is a PhD student in computer science who is blind and doing innovative research on human-computer interaction.  He has developed a system called TIKISI, which stands for "touch it, key it, speak it".  This refers to multi-modal interface, in which the user employs speech and touch to give and get information to and from a computer. TIKISI has particular value to STEM subjects, which make frequent use of maps, charts, graphs, diagrams, and other visual representations of data, because it uses multi-modal interaction.
