Braille Enrichment for Literacy and Learning (NFB BELL)

Summer braille instruction program from National Federation of the Blind promotes braille literacy for students who are blind or visually impaired.

NFB (National Federation of the Blind) sponsors the BELL Academy (Braille Enrichment for Literacy and Learning)  in an effort to provide instruction in braille during the summer months to children who are blind or visually impaired. This program is meant to serve students who are not currently receiving enough braille instruction in school or who could benefit from braille enrichment over the summer. Designed for children ages 4 to 12, the program offers braille instruction through two weeks of fun, hands-on activities.

The program is currently being offered by affiliates in 24 states and the District of Columbia.  For more information see:  https://nfb.org/programs-services/nfb-bell-academy
