Tips and Best Practices for Creating Tactile Graphics

Tips and best practices for creating tactile graphics for students who are blind or visually impaired

The World of Tactile Graphics: Tips and Best Practices for Teachers and Instructors by Aquinas Pather, Chair of the BANA Tactile Graphics Technical Committee, offers suggestions on how to simplify tactile graphics and encourages anyone creating tactile graphics to consider the age and experience of the reader when designing something.  He also recommends that tactile graphics be tested non-visually (e.g. blindfolded) before they are given to a student.  A list of tips for teachers is included.
