I ran into a friend I had grown up with when I was looking at going back to school after having four children and a divorce. She convinced me that becoming a Teacher of the Visually Impaired was the way to go and it was!!!!! Thank you Robin Smith for bringing so much fun and fulfillment to my life. I currently work for the Columbia Regional Program in Portland, Oregon. I love learning more to help my students and creating! Life is dull without a creative challenge. I have worked for the Washington State School for the Blind Outreach program and Northwest Regional Program in Oregon in my illustrious 12 years as a TVI. One of my favorite parts has been working with our summer residential ECC Program for the past 8 years. I am definitely a Diane Sheline and Paths to Literacy “fan girl”. I believe we’re all in this together and love learning and sharing with all of you that are in the trenches like me.
