Rachel Bennett is the parent of a child with CVI, Henry, as well as a special educator and curriculum specialist. Rachel has gained a depth of knowledge of CVI over the past several years through research, trainings, conferences, and graduate coursework. As a CVI mom, Rachel works hard to implement a visually accessible day for Henry that includes a balance of complexity of environment and task, along with CVI instructional methodologies, interventions, and adapted materials—all to give Henry access so he can build neural pathways and improve his functional vision. Rachel is part of the collective movement to raise awareness of CVI and advocate for system change, so individuals with CVI can be fully and appropriately served.
