Wilson Reading System
The Wilson Reading System (WRS) has been adapted by Mary McCarthy, Justine Carlone Rines, and Roz Rowley from Perkins School for the Blind for students who are blind or visually impaired, and is on sale through APH (American Printing House for the Blind). First published in 1988, the WRS is a structured reading program based on Orton-Gillingham philosophy and principles, using phonemic awareness and a multi-sensory approach where each lesson builds upon previous knowledge.
