Additionally, prior to becoming a TVI, Jonathan was a general education classroom teacher – specializing in math and literacy.

Jonathan has a long history with Perkins School for the Blind. He has taught online courses like Multimedia Accessibility in the Digital Classroom and hosted many webinars – including demos on creating a CVI-friendly book. Most recently, Jonathan has taken on the moderator role for the Paths to Technology minisite.

This is reflected in his role as co-founder of the NYC Braille Challenge and his work developing NYC Camp Abilities. In 2020, because of his contributions to the field, Jonathan was named Braille Teacher of the Year by the Braille Institute.
