Communication Matrix

The Communication Matrix is an assessment instrument designed for individuals of all ages who function at the earliest stages of communication and who use any form of communication.  It helps teams to pinpoint exactly how to provide a framework for determining logical communication goals.  Since communication and literacy are so closely linked in young children and children with multiple disabilities, it is important to look at them wholistically.  This tool was originally designed by Dr. Charity Rowland of Oregon Health & Science University.
