Mary Tellefson

Mary is a veteran teacher for students who are blind/visually impaired, including children with multiple disabilities, holding two master’s degrees: one in special education (teacher for the visually impaired/orientation and mobility specialist) and one in school administration. Her extensive experience writing inclusive curricula for school-age and university-level courses has given her insights into the need for materials grounded in educational and SEL standards.

Previous publications in print, Braille, and audio format include Two Canes on the Tundra and Blooming Besties, chapter books for grades 3-5, featuring main characters who are blind.

Mary lives with her husband in Wisconsin enjoying their seven grandchildren whom they see weekly.
