I am an Outreach Consultant for the Kentucky School for the Blind. I enjoy providing trainings for the Teachers of the Visually Impaired in South Central Kentucky and sharing my 35 years of experience teaching in the fields of hearing impaired and vision impaired. I love developing, making, and sharing activities that show how modifications can made to the curriculum to give all learners access to literacy. With an undergraduate degree in Teaching the Hearing Impaired, Graduate degree, and a Graduate Certification in Teaching the Visually Impaired, along with 35 years of teaching as a resource teacher, itinerant teacher, and residential classroom teacher, I feel I have a unique perspective on teaching children with complex needs and learners with visual impairment.
