Braille Design: Piece of Birthday Cake

Make your own braille drawing of a slice of birthday cake, following these steps.

Braille drawings are a great way to practice braille skills!  This one of a slice of birthday cake with a candle on it is sure to be a favorite.

Directions

Row 1: Space 11 times, make “L”.

Row 2: Space 10 times, make 2 full cells.

Row 3: Space 10 times, make 2 full cells.

Row 4: Space 4 times, make “s”, make “wh” 5 times, make 2 full cells, make “wh”.

Row 5: Space 4 times, make “L”, make “s”, make dot (4), make “comma”, make apostrophe, space 1 time, make 2 full cells, space 1 time, make “ch”

Row 6: Space 4 times, make “L” 2 times, space 3 times, make dot (4), make dot (5), make dot (6), space 2 times, make “ch”

Row 7: Space 4 times, make “L” 2 times, space 6 times, make dot (4), make dot (5), make dot (6), make “ch”

Row 8: Space 4 times, make “L” 2 times, space 9 times, make dots (4, 5, 6) 

Row 9: Space 4 times, make “v”, make “L”, space 9 times, make dots (4, 5, 6) 

Row 10: Space 5 times, make “a”, make dot (5), make dot (6), space 7 times, make dots (4, 5, 6)

Row 11: Space 8 times, make dot (4), make dot (5), make dot (6), space 4 times, make dots (4, 5, 6)

Row 12: Space 11 times, make dot (4), make dot (5), make dot (6), space 1 time, make dots (4, 5, 6)

Row 13: Space 14 times, make dot (4), make dots (4, 5)
