The Braille Rap Song was written by Lynn Horton and Tammy Whitten as a fun way to teach braille to their students at the Helen Keller School in Talladega, Alabama.  The lyrics and an audio file are available below.

Ideas to Use the Song

  • Act out the motions described in the song.
  • Provide the student with cards with all of the braille letters on them and invite the student to hold up the correct one while listening to the song.
  • Invite different students to learn the words to different letters and take turns saying them.
