Session 6 is a continuation of Investigation 5.

Materials

  • WaterViz Investigation 5 Facilitator Guide
  • WaterViz Investigation 5 Worksheet (BRF*, PDF)
  • Supplies for building the 3D model:
    • 1-inch-thick foam block (craft foam)
    • paper straws (at least 6 per group, plus extras)
    • ruler
    • scissors
    • art supplies (markers, bump dots, washi tape, Wiki Sticks) 
    • glue

Activities

  • Environmental scientists use tactile materials to build a 3D model of climate data collected at Hubbard Brook.
  • Environmental scientists explain their models to their peers and facilitators.
