Teacher Megan Connaughton from the Deafblind Program at Perkins School for the Blind presents a 5-minute video showing how she adapted Eric Carle’s book What’s For Lunch? for students with visual impairments and additional disabilities. The book features a monkey making choices about which type of fruit he would like to eat. Megan discusses the adaptations she made for students with CVI (Cortical Visual Impairment) and the use of a pre-recorded switch for students who are non-verbal to participate in the activity. She demonstrates examples of tactile symbols and modifications to make the book accessible to all students.
