Professional Development Opportunities through NERCVE

Online professional development for teachers of the blind and visually impaired (TVIs)

The Northeast Regional Center for Vision Education (NERCVE) offers open enrollment for online courses. Some of the courses in the Vision Studies program are open to non-matriculated students, and this depends on the enrollment of matriculated students. Offerings include such courses as:

  • Clinical and Functional Assessment of Vision
  • Psycho-social Aspects of Visual Impairments
  • Education of Students with Visual Impairment
  • Introduction to Audiology and the Human Auditory System
  • Physical & Functional Aspects of Visual Impairment
  • Introduction to AT for People with VI
  • Eye Anatomy and Disease
  • Overview of Deafblindness, Including Psychosocial and Multicultural Perspectives
