I am a school district Braille Transcriber in Victoria, BC, Canada. I’ve always been intrigued by braille, even as a child, but it was my best friend, who is blind, who got me started on the path I am on now. I have been working with one student since I started as a Transcriber in 2020. I run Braille Club once a week for the school population where they can learn the basics of the braille code. I like braille art as a way to put some fun in their learning and decorate the school. My student has also created a design or two of his own.
I am a wife and mother of four ages 15 to 21 and I enjoy being in the outdoors, especially camping with my family and our Scouting community.
