I am a school district Braille Transcriber in Victoria, BC, Canada. I’ve always been intrigued by braille, even as a child, but it was my best friend, who is blind, who got me started on the path I am on now.
Charlotte was the creator and manager of the Paths to Literacy website from 2010-2021. She has worked for Perkins School for the Blind in many capacities, including classroom teacher, consultant for Perkins International in Asia and Africa, Education Consultant for New England Center Deafblind Project, and Digital Projects Manager.
Jonathan Hooper is a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) based in New York City, where he has worked for over a decade supporting learners of all ages, including Braille readers, students with CVI, and learners with complex needs – including those with dual sensory loss.
I am educational accessibility consultant collaborating with various educational app developers and agencies. Currently, I split my time between managing the Perkins eLearning website, Paths to Technology, presenting workshops on a national level, and working on accessibility-related projects.
Enjoying challenges, the position of art instructor for the visually impaired took care of that. I work for LA School for the Visually Impaired in Baton Rouge, LA.
Jessica is a TVI in California and is also the resource specialist in Assistive Technology for California Transcribers and Educators for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CTEBVI). She was one of the authors of the Access Technology Evaluation Checklist For Blind and Low Vision Needs.
I boarded at Ripon Grammar School (UK) in the 1970s, my father was a pilot in the air force which meant we were always moving around.
I am Teacher of students who are blind or visually impaired, certified in PA and NJ. I am currently working as the Assistant Coordinator of Kutztown University’s Program on Visual Impairment, and the Executive Support Specialist for Out of Sight Teaching, LLC.
Formerly a TVI with public schools in Austin, currently a specialist in VI education with the Outreach Department of Texas School for the the Blind and Visually Impaired.
