Amy Shepherd

Amy Shepherd, M.Ed., is a CVI Specialist for the Michigan Department of Education Resource for Blind and Low Vision (MDE-RBLV), where she previously served as Parent Liaison for seven years. She holds a Certificate in Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment from UMass Boston and is a Perkins-Roman Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) Range Endorsee.
Amy spent five years as a long-term Expert Substitute Teacher for the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) Teachers for the Visually Impaired team. She served as President of Michigan Parents of Children with Visual Impairments (MPVI) for six years and has held numerous nonprofit board positions, including roles with the APH Parent Advisory Committee, Ann Arbor Commission of Disability Issues, Ann Arbor Parent Advisory Committee to Special Education, and Ann Arbor Lions Club.
In 2016, she received the Michigan Association of Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (MAER) Award for Outstanding Contributions for Serving Persons in Michigan Who Are Blind and Visually Impaired.
