Amy Shepherd

Amy Shepherd, M.Ed., is a Parent Liaison for the Michigan Department of Education Low Incidence Outreach (MDE-LIO) and an Expert Substitute Teacher for the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD) Teachers for the Visually Impaired team. She is a Perkins-Roman Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) Range Endorsee, and a National Instructional Materials Access Center (NIMAC) Accessible Media Producer. Amy was the President of the Michigan Parents of Children with Visual Impairments (MPVI) for six years and has held numerous non-profit board positions including the Ann Arbor Commission of Disability Issues, Ann Arbor Parent Advisory Committee to Special Education and the Ann Arbor Lions Club. She was awarded the Michigan Association of Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (MAER) Award for Outstanding Contributions for Serving Person in Michigan Who are Blind and Visually Impaired in 2016.
